1. The Children : This program will help children learn to make better choices to retain their identity and character. It will give them an incentive to read more while at school and in the mentoring program. It’s a reward for good grades and avoiding trouble in school, as well as giving their home life stability.
2. Schools/communities : The participating children must maintain a certain grade point average; plus remain in trouble free behavior at school and in the community where they live.
3. Prisoners : The prisoners will now have contact with their children and this will motivate them to take the necessary courses to participate in the program. (see 4 below). These courses will help them as they are re-introduced into society.
4. Correctional centers/staff : The participating inmates will be required to take parenting classes, anger management, and substance abuse classes in addition to pursuing an educational program. They must maintain a high level of conduct and moral excellence. This in turn makes the staff feel more at ease because the inmates now have incentive for self-rehabilitation.
The program will also be used to ensure and maintain safety in our continually expanding prison system. It helps the staff as well as the other inmates to create a safe environment.
5. Government/Department of Justice (D.O.J.) : This program shows tremendous potential to aid the D.O.J. in problematic areas. The program will offer up to 50 above the criteria visits. These visits are called, “Objective Incentives.” They are designed to help the D.O.J. to get reluctant detainees to cooperate in certain circumstances when information is needed to protect and insure national security.
Conclusion: Based on the current condition of this nation and all the dismal projections of economists and psychologists, we need to implement this program and have it up and running within a year.

"IS THERE A SOLUTION?"
Let’s address the current solutions, or (treatments) that are being used in America today.
The first plan was simple, Lock "THEM" up and throw away the key, or “get tough on crime and give "THEM" longer sentences, make "THEM" do more time!”
This really sounded great at the beginning, until we found out “WE” had to feed, house and medicate "THESE" people. It really got bad when “our” children became “THEM”, particularly with the rise of white collar crime.
In a recent USA Today article, Former President Clinton admits that he made a terrible mistake in judgment with the crack cocaine laws.
This along with the (3) strikes law has not made America a safer place. It has only made the nation a warehouse for prisoners.
